UAL Diploma: Foundation Studies in Art and Design 2016
The work in this gallery is a small sample of outcomes from the Final Major Project (or FMP) which is entirely self-directed by students coming to the end of their course. The statements underneath each student are their own comments about the work they undertook for this project. Each of these students will testify to the importance of taking a foundation year after A levels, to find the best and the most suitable pathway for progression to university, and many are pursuing different pathways to the ones they thought they would a year ago - that's what foundation is for!. The costs of higher education are very significant now and cannot be wasted. You'll see from their bio's that they're starting undergraduate programmes which will set them up with the best opportunities, contacts and experiences for building their creative careers. Some of these students are mature students taking the part-time route through the course over two years.
